About
The Consortium Project's mission is to create quality art that engages the community in a dynamic and encompassing way. We are storytellers and we strive to create pieces that serve not only the play, but also the audience. This is why The Consortium Project exists; to instigate a tangible change in the people who come see our art.
Our goal is to become a theatre that runs entirely on donations, grants, trusts, foundations and sponsorships so that 100 percent of our ticket proceeds can go to charities and other none-profit organizations. It is our desire to raise awareness and social consciousness of issues that effect our friends, family and neighbors while at the same time raising cold hard cash for organizations that are working tirelessly on those issues. We feel that if we can take one dollar from a donor and multiply that into three dollars for a charity then we have been successful, not only artistically, but socially as well. If we don't protect and encourage those that do quantifiable good in our community then who will? That is the goal of the Consortium Project and the goal for everyone who shares in our art.
This model of theater is dangerous, exciting and not extremely business savvy. Most theaters depend on the yearly subscription base of their ticket holders to continue producing plays, but we will not have that luxury. However, we are not just a theatre company. We are an ideal, a movement, a ground-swell. We are The Consortium Project.
